TAP Issues Invitations to Tender for Compressor Stations

Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP) has issued its next Invitation to Tender (ITT) for compressor stations in Greece and Albania.

TAP is issuing two separate ITTs – one for Greece and one for Albania.

In Greece, the ITT will cover the provision of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of one compressor station at Kipoi. In Albania, the ITT is for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of one compressor station at Fier, and one metering station at Billisht. The metering station is designed to measure natural gas coming from the Greek section of TAP.

Design and specification for the compressor stations is in line with TAP's initial capacity of 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) per annum with a possibility to expand that capacity up to 20 bcm per annum.

The TAP project was selected by the consortium of Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field development as the transportation route to the European markets.

The long pipeline will connect with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) near the Turkish-Greek border at Kipoi, cross Greece and Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before coming ashore in Southern Italy.

Construction of TAP is planned to begin in 2016.

TAP's shareholding is comprised of BP (20 percent), SOCAR (20 percent), Statoil (20 percent), Fluxys (19 percent), Enagás (16 percent) and Axpo (5 percent).
