Azerbaijan Seeks to Attract Foreign Investors to its Non-Oil Sector

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev set a number of priorities for 2015 at the government meeting held on January 10.

"Of course, foreign investors are more interested in investing into oil and gas sector, however, we will also invite them to invest in other sectors. Within special programs, we will establish industrial and agricultural parks and they will attract foreign investors", President Aliyev said.

In his opinion, today there's no much choice for investments in the world, as no one would invest in the crisis-hit countries.

"That's why it's much easier to attract investments to stable countries with socio-political stability and economic growth. Lack of information plays its part, of course. However, presentations, business forums, spreading of information about Azerbaijan among the world public and business structures have already turned Azerbaijan into a very attractive country for investors", - President Aliyev believes.

In his opinion, due to the non-oil sector development, the role of the banking sector is of special importance.

"Currently our banks issue even more loans to real economy. I support it and I mentioned at one of the previous meetings that this sector of economy should be provided with more loans. We can already observe it. It's a very positive approach demonstrating responsibility of our banking sector", - noted President Aliyev.

In his words, year of 2015 will not be an easy one for the world.
