US Congress Hosts Briefing on “New Silk Road”

The US Congress hosted a briefing on the theme "New Silk Road" connecting East Asia and Western Europe: opportunities and global impact", organized by the embassies of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey to United States on April 29.

Representatives from government agencies of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey attended the event, moderated by the US-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC).

In addition to the discussions on strategic importance and competitiveness of Trans-Caspian East-West Trade and Transit Corridor, the briefing participants were informed about infrastructure projects carried out by Azerbaijan and other countries, as well as trade and transit opportunities.

As earlier reported, on April 28, Johns Hopkins University in Washington, DC, hosted a Forum on Trans-Caspian East-West Trade and Transit Corridor. The forum discussions and Azerbaijan's regional co-operation with Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey raised great interest among the participants.

Being part of the Forum, the briefing generated great interest and was attended by about 50 delegates, including the aides of Congressmen, representatives of US federal government agencies, academicians, as well as a number of experts.
