Amec Gets 5-year Project from BP Azerbaijan, $340M Chirag Oil Project

Amec PLC (AMEC.LN), the international engineering and project management company, as part of the Amec Tekfen Azfen, or ATA, consortium, said Tuesday it has been awarded a five-year Master Services Agreement by BP Azerbaijan, including the Chirag Oil Project - West Chirag project valued at $340 million.

MAIN FACTs

  • Five-year agreement for the ATA consortium covers the provision of project management, engineering services, construction management and commissioning and completions for BP's oil and gas projects in Azerbaijan, and, in the future, the Shah Deniz 2 project.
  • First tranche of work under the new agreement is for the project start-up and associated yard preparation works for an 18,000 ton topsides facility for the Chirag project.
  • Amec shares closed Monday at 871 pence valuing the company at GBP2.88 billion.
