Turkey Is ready to Establish Special Economic Zone in Azerbaijan

Turkey is ready to share its experience in the creation of industrial zones with Azerbaijan. Turkey and Azerbaijan will discuss implementation of some joint projects.

The statement came from Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan at a recent press conference in Baku.

According to him, these projects are associated with joint investment and increase in trade, implementation of investment projects, joint activities in third countries, intensification of business and the signing of new agreements.

Caglayan noted the delegation headed by Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev will visit Turkey in the near future at the Turkish Minister's invitation.

"The Azerbaijani delegation will study the experience of Turkey in various sectors of the economy, particularly in the various fields of industry, tourism, information technology and so on," Caglayan said.

"During the next visit, we intend to visit Sumgait Technology Park. Turkey has rich experience in creation of industrial zones and is willing to share it with Azerbaijan," Caglayan added.

He noted that the establishment of a special economic zone in Sumgait is possible. Creation of such zones in the territory of partner countries is one of the main policies of Turkish business abroad.
