World Bank Appoints New Manager on Azerbaijan

The World Bank has appointed Larisa Leshchenko as the new country manager on Azerbaijan.

Leshchenko's activity will start on September 1, however she will arrive in Azerbaijan in October when she will be officially presented to the country's government.

Joseph Owen, the current head of the World Bank on Azerbaijan, will continue his activity until the new country manager takes office.

Larisa Leshchenko worked as a researcher for the Central European University and later as a senior economist for the World Bank. She also served the offices of the bank in Ukraine and Georgia.
