Azerbaijan, Turkey Sign Eight Bilateral Documents

The second meeting of the Azerbaijan–Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was followed by a ceremony to sign cooperation documents between the two countries.

The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a protocol at the second meeting of the council.

Faig Bagirov, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Turkey, and the coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute for Turcology, Yasin Tunch, signed a protocol of cooperation for the Turkology Project between Baku State University and the Yunus Emre Institute.

In addition, the director of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Closed Joint-Stock Company, Arif Alishanov, and the general director of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) Ibrahim Sahin signed cooperation documents between the two companies.

The Transportation Minister of Azerbaijan, Ziya Mammadov, and the Turkish Minister of Transport, Seafaring and Connection, Bineli Yildirim, reached a memorandum of understanding on the development of combined freight transportation between the two ministries.

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, and the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmad Davudoglu, agreed on the exchange of diplomats between the two official entities.

Also, Azerbaijan's ambassador to Turkey, Faig Bagirov, and the director of Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency, Serdar Cam, signed a protocol between the governments of the two countries on regulation on the activity of the Azerbaijan-Turkish joint company for research and development.

The Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations, Kemaleddin Heydarov, and the Turkish Minister of Transport, Seafaring and Connection, Bineli Yildirim, agreed on coordination and cooperation on search and rescue services.

Last but not least, the Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development, Shahin Mustafayev, and the Turkish Minister of Economy, Zafer Caglayan, signed a memorandum of understanding for technical regulation, standardization, conformity assessment, accreditation and metrology.
