Ukraine to Discuss Joining TANAP

According to Alexander Mishchenko, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ukraine plans to discuss joining the Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) with Azerbaijan by the end of the year.

On Monday, Mishchenko told reporters that energy resources diversification is a priority for Ukraine. "Azerbaijan has large energy reserves. We are interested in projects involving energy interests of Ukraine such as the TANAP project designed to ensure the delivery of Azerbaijani gas to Europe," Mishchenko explained.

The ambassador also added that Ukraine has a powerful gas transportation infrastructure.

The TANAP project involves the construction of a pipeline from Turkey's eastern border to its western border to transport gas from Shah Deniz field to Europe.
