IGF Forum 2012 Is Available Online
The seventh international Internet Governance Forum (IGF) will be available online, Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies confirmed on Wednesday.
IGF will be held in Baku within the International Telecommunications Exhibition BakuTel-2012, November 6–9.
The forum, which will be available at www.intgovforum.org/cms/, will have over 100 open training sessions, a main plenary session, and other events.
The forum will be attended by delegates from over 100 countries, including representatives of government agencies, the private sector, international organizations, civil society and others.
The main purpose of the forum is to bring together various stakeholders to discuss public policy issues on regulation in the Internet space.
The forum will discuss issues on providing public information, placing information of government agencies in the public domain and prospects for development of new products and services. IGF will also cover the use and distribution of the IPv6 protocol, the management of Internet resources, top-level domains (TLDs) and Internationalized Domain Name System (IDNs).
In addition, some of the important issues on the agenda will be the fight against cybercrime, the benefits of cloud computing and the protection of intellectual property rights. The use of the global network in the aftermath of natural disasters will also be discussed during the forum.
