RWE May Withdraw from Nabucco Pipeline

The German company RWE may sell its 16.67 percent of Nabucco shares to the Austrian company OMV, the German weekly Focus reports, citing unnamed sources.

According to the publication, the parties may finalize the deal before the end of this year. The information was also confirmed by The Financial Times.

Shareholders in the Nabucco project include Hungary's MOL, Turkey's BOTAS, Bulgaria's Bulgargaz, Romania's Transgaz, OMV and RWE.

RWE representatives had stated their intention to review the feasibility of the project earlier this year.
