Free Economic Trade Zone to be Created at Baku Airport

A free economic trade zone will be created in Azerbaijan as part of the country's "Azerbaijan 2020: Vision to the future" plan.

The free trade zone will be created at a new complex at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The complex will cover 624,000 square feet. After commissioning, the annual passenger turnover of the International Airport of Heydar Aliyev will reach 3 million people.

The area around the complex will also be fully reconstructed along with the construction of a new terminal. In addition, construction of a new control tower to manage flights, fire safety, power and other facilities is under way.
