Azerbaijan Legal Framework For Space Cooperation

Azerbaijan's access to the Treaty on the Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies, will expand its international cooperation links.

This intergovernmental agreement will help to accelerate the growth of the country's activities in outer space, from both economic as well as scientific point of view and also serve as a form of intellectual potential and material and technical base in the space sector.

The Outer Space Treaty, signed in 1967, defines the basic legal framework of international space law. Members of the treaty will pursue the exploration and use of outer space in accordance with international law, including the UN Charter.
