ILO Moves Azerbaijan into the Category of Countries with Above-Average Income

The International Labour Organization (ILO) has classified Azerbaijan to the category of countries with income above the average.

According to the latest report of the organization, World of Work 2013, the middle class in Azerbaijan with an income of $10 to $50 a day is 18% of the population. The "poor" with income less than $4 a day in the country is 22% of the population.

The bulk of the Azerbaijani population the ILO considers to be the so-called "variable group" whose income range from $4 to $10 a day, which makes 60% of the population.

According to the report, Georgia and Armenia are classified as countries with incomes below the average.
